1982-84 (approx) found me in a band with some members a few years older than myself, age really never mattered to me it was attitude I cared about. These guys were/are some of the best musicians and nicest folks you could meet.
Tim Beck, drums (back row left) was just an amazing drummer and musician. Just a great guy to talk to and made the bottom end easy to keep with his timing and style. Not sure were Tim is today, but I would love to chat with him again!
Larry Jones, keys - vocalist lead/backup (back row right) was a sight reader without compare, and the voice to match his material. A talented ivory player as well as a recording engineer and graphics artist. Larry did some excellent tunes from the 40's and 50's (possibly some 30's) that were the thing diners needed to hear while they digested their food.
Mark Johnson, keys - vocalist lead/backup (front row right) was an amazing keyboard and vocalist. He really did Elton John songs like Elton himself. Mark is currently music director as Saint Al's church in his hometown.
Steve Gutierrez, Guitar - lead vocalist and band leader. As the "band leader" Steve brought a good mix of songs to the band, way too many Eagles songs but hay I love the Eagles let er rip! Steve was no virtuoso on the guitar, but the style of the music and his solid guitar work fit tight as a glove. One of the only guitarist I have ever worked with who did not fill each gig with hours of solo's!
The band was very active and played mostly "nightclub" or dining gigs. We managed to play the same place called The Brass Rail many many times, nearly becoming a "house band" in a way.. Yes you could have your cake and listen to us too! Later in the evening we would rock out with anything from America to the Eagles.
